Mercedes-Benz will upgrade Maybach

The company Mercedes-Benz has decided to upgrade the most expensive four-wheel representative in a number of model Maybach limousines. Updated Maybach 62 will come on the market in the second half of 2008 as a model in 2009.

The appearance of the car changed slightly. Maybach 62 will contain a new lattice radiator with fewer vertical bars, and new rear lamps with LED optics. In addition, Mercedes-Benz designers are now working on a new generation Maybach, which is going to be added to the market no earlier than 2012.

History is full of contradictions of Maybach limousines. Five years ago lively discussed by road community a resounding return "legendary" Maybach brand. In fact, the management firm wanted to produce a worthy competitor to British "aristocrats" Bentley and Rolls-Royce. The massive Mercedes is not suited to the title super-luxury limousine. Then was decided to revive pre-war Maybach brand.

This fall, Mercedes-Benz leadership discuss that to keep the Maybach in the market is meaningless because of its high cost and low sales. In the entire history of Maybach brand was sold less than 800 cars. And as soon as the limousine Maybach 62 appeared on the world automotive scene experts immediately described it as mainly commercial failure of the company. But sarcastic predictions did not come true. Limousine firmly took its post.
